Baldur s Gate 3: Best Cleric Class Build
Athletics and Survival are great for exploring the world, while Athletics and Intimidation is better for an in-your-face Fighter. Either way, Fighters have plenty of opportunities to naturally trigger Inspriation from these two Backgrounds.
Armour of Agility (17 AC + DEX, Medium Armour, Very Rare): Securing this armor with its full DEX Mod bonus can give a much-needed defensive boost to Bards against the tougher foes of Act 3. Not to mention, its +2 Saves and lack of Stealth Disadvantage can help Bards have a fighting chance against stronger casters.
Battle Master - Maneouvres: Specific to the Battle Master , their Maneouvres give Fighters a similar level of utility to Spellcasting Classes. While their damage numbers don’t compare to traditional Spells, the extra movement options and variability in effects, such as disarming foes, can make Bards a more tactical Class.
Savage Attacks lets players add an additional Damage Dice on top of their normal critical hit damage, but only with melee weapon attacks. Relentless Endurance prevents the Fighter from going down, restoring them to 1 HP upon reaching 0, only once per long rest.
Darkfire Shortbow (1d6+2, Shortbow, Rare): The free Haste alongside Fire and Cold Resistances can make this Shortbow ideal for both offense and defense. Even if Haste is only available once per Long Rest, it can give the Bard and even another ally a much-needed boost to their offensive potential.
At level five, the War Domain gives the Cleric "Spirit Guardians" and "Crusader's Mantle," allowing them to deal radiant or necrotic damage to foes around them while also slowing them, and letting them radiate energy that grants all nearby allies extra radiant damage on their weapon attacks.
Spore Druids can make excellent use of any staff that has added damage, such as the Gold Wyrmling Staff (Act 1, Sold by Roah Moonglow at the Goblin Camp) or the Cacophony Staff (Act 1, Sold by Lady Esther at the Rosymorn Monastery Trail) since the bonus damage will stack with the necrotic damage from Symbiotic Entity. When paired with the Shillelagh spell these staves can dish out a surprising amount of damage while scaling entirely off the Druid's Wisdom. This can be further boosted using the Polearm Master Feat.
If you're multiclassing with Barbarian, we recommend Leather Armour +2 for the early-game and then either the Bhaalist Armour or Elegant Studded Leather in the late-game. If you're looking for heavy armor, you should consider grabbing the Adamantine Splint Armour during Act 1, Dwarven Splintmail from Moonrise Towers during Act 2, or the Flawed Helldusk Armour from Damon in Act 2. Another decent option is the Rippling Force Mail. You can swap in the Reaper's Embrace or Armour of Persistence later, before picking up the Helldusk Armour as your final set.
There are a total of seven BG3 Domains (subclasses) Cleric players can try out, each of which focuses on different aspects of the class, and offers a selection of unique skills, proficiencies, and other features. As you level up in one of these BG3 Cleric subclasses, you will gain more abilities that are unique to your subclass choice.

More specifically, the Fighter class is an expert in using weapons and armor of all kinds and can thus adapt easily to different combat situations. Players add their Dexterity and Charisma Proficiency Bonuses to their Saving Throws, making Bards more capable of dodging deadly attacks (Acrobatics) or even resisting truth-telling Zone of Truth Spells.
Proficiency, Light Armor
Warlock: As previously mentioned, reliably depending on Hex compared to Hunter’s Mark can drastically boost the Bard’s overall damage. The Warlock, another utility-heavy Class, can add a repertoire of aggressive Spells for the Bard without having to dabble into INT-based Wizard. Depending on the Patron and the Pact, a Bard/Warlock can stay in the rear for support or become a mini-DPS.
The Circle of The Land is a spellcasting-focused subclass that has access to a wide variety of damage types, allowing players to work around resistances with multiple elements, or focus on a single element and push it to its limits. Players could take advantage of this by grabbing some of the element-themed magic items that can be found throughout the game, many of which can be found as early as Act 1.
Shadeclinger (12 AC + DEX, Light Armour, Rare): While also suitable for Rogues with its Stealth +1 and Advantage on Saves, this is exactly the kind of gear a Bard might need if they're assigned for scouting missions. Players who prefer the Bard to strike last amid an ongoing encounter could use the additional Stealth to maneuver themselves amid hostile forces.
