Trickery Clerics are one of the weaker subclasses, but their abilities make them very useful when working alongside stealthy allies. This also means that they pair well with Rogue, Ranger, and Shadow Monk when multiclassing.
While the Blood of Lathander remains an ideal weapon for the Devotion Paladin, this is a good time to pick up a better shield. Viconia's Walking Fortress, a legendary shield wielded by Viconia DeVir during the quest "Daughter of Darkness", is a truly stunning option for a tanky Paladin. It grants advantage on all saving throws against spells, gives all spell attack rolls against you disadvantage, and allows you to blast enemies who strike you back with a wave of force. On top of all this, it also allows you to cast Warding Bond once per long rest and the unique "Reflective Shell" once per short rest. Reflective Shell returns all projectiles to their point of origin for 2 turns, and is activated as a bonus action.
At level eight, War Clerics get "Divine Strike: Warmaster," which allows them to add extra slashing damage to an attack. Level nine finishes off their Domain Spells with "Flame Strike" and "Hold Monster." This provides them with a powerful targeted strike of radiant and fire damage and allows them to freeze a creature in place.
All Wizards get access to a list of ridiculously useful out-of-combat spells, but Evocation Wizards specifically hone in on their ability to dish out massive damage in a short amount of time. All Wizards suffer from the lack of easily rechargeable spell slots, but Evocation Wizards can put these limited slots to good use – plus, Arcane Recovery can help when a Long Rest isn't possible.
As you level up in one of these BG3 Fighter subclasses, you will gain more abilities that are unique to your subclass choice. Your choice of Fighter subclass can be changed by speaking with Withers, but you will start at Level 1 and have to make your BG3 Fighter build from scratch.
Baldur's Gate 3 can be a tough game for someone new to the series, or new to CRPG Dungeons and Dragons -like games in general. A well-balanced party composition should have some kind of support class, which the Cleric happens to excel at . At level 3, Duergar get the ability to Enlarge themselves, altering their Strength stat and direct weapon damage. At Level 5, Duergar gain the ability to cast Invisibility as a racial ability. However, unlike many limited-use abilities, Duergar can cast Invisibility on themselves at will when out of combat, though it can only be used once per long rest in combat.
While the game's combat was action-oriented, it also allowed players to mess around with various stats and complexities to enhance their combat efficiency even more. As a Level 11 Fighter, players can attack three times in a single turn, but by putting one point into barbarian, they can attack four times minimum every turn – as long as a bonus action isn't used for another ability.
Wizards get to choose two skills from a list of six at character creation, including Arcana, History, Investigation, Insight, Medicine, and Religion. Choosing the Sage background removes History and Arcana from the pool of other skill proficiencies Wizards can learn at Level 1, leaving four choices remaining, while Guild Artisans just lose Insight.
The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Wizard build. In character creation, you gain the basics for the Wizard class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.
