At level ten, Eldritch Knights learn one more second-level spell, get one more cantrip, and gain "Eldritch Strike." Eldritch Strike gives a creature the Eldritch Knight successfully hits with their melee attack disadvantage on saving throws against the Eldritch Knight's magic, but only until the end of the Knight's next turn. This can be great for setting up a foe for a powerful spell.

By taking advantage of the Dual Wielder feat, you can have a staff in one hand and a Shadow Blade (from the Shadow Blade Spell) in the other. This will allow you to get advantage on all attack rolls against lightly or heavily obscured foes. As for which staff to pick, we recommend Melf's First Staff in the early-game, before switching to either the Staff of Spellpower, Woe, or Markoheshkir in Ac

Level 1 Hexblade Warlocks also receive the "Hexblade's Curse" ability , which curses a target to receive extra damage equal to the Warlock's proficiency bonus whenever the Warlock deals damage to them. It also reduces the number needed to roll a critical hit against that target by 1, and restores HP equal to the Warlock's Proficiency+Charisma Modifier when they kill the cursed target. A Hexblade Warlock gains Shield and Wrathful Smite as level 1 spell options.

Hexblade Warlocks make a pact with a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell , manifesting as sentient magical weapons forged from shadow. Picking this subclass at level 1 will give you the ability "Hexed Warrior", which grants proficiency in medium armor, shields, and martial weapons. Using "Bind Hexed Weapon" on a weapon of their choice, they can use their Charisma Modifier instead of their Strength or Dexterity when attacking with that weapon, as long as they're proficient. A Hexed Weapon also has a chance of inflicting the Hexblade's Curse on any creature it strikes.

Baldur's Gate 3 offers players an array of different classes to choose from, each offering unique abilities and skills to aid them during combat and when exploring the world. The Warlock Class is a particularly unusual arcane caster that receives its power from a powerful and mysterious patron via a pact.

This guide has been updated to provide information and advice about the Death Domain in its own section, including information on multiclassing and useful equipment for the subclass.

At level one, a Life Domain Cleric gains "Cure Wounds" and "Bless" as Domain spells, which are automatically and always prepared when resting. They also get proficiency with Heavy Armor to strengthen their defenses.

These include upgraded versions of weapons, as well as one that would help characters move furt

Updated on April 22nd, 2025, by Thomas Hawkins: With the release of Baldur's Gate 3's massive Patch 8, the Sorcerer has once again gained a new subclass to select. The Shadow Magic Subclass draws on the power of the Shadowfell to conjure Shadow Mastiff allies and fortify the Sorcerer defensively. It also offers mobility through its ability to step through shadow, making it an excellent choice for ranged builds that benefit from good positioning. This guide has been updated to include information on the Shadow Magic Sorcerer, and to discuss multiclassing options and equipment that works well with the subcl

During Act 3, players should grab The Reviving Hands Gloves to replace the Hellrider's Pride Gloves. They offer everything the Hellrider's Pride Gloves offer while also applying Death Ward whenever a creature is revived by the wearer. This allows the Cleric to heal someone who has been reduced to zero Hit Points and prevent them from being downed by the next attack that would drop them to zero.

At level eight, the Cleric gains "Divine Strike: Life." This lets them imbue their weapon with radiant damage and attack once as an action. This can be great for boosting the Cleric's damage, especially when facing undead or fiend foes as they are usually vulnerable to radiant damage.
