E3 2018: Biggest Games Rumored For The Show

One of the joys of playing Breath of the Wild is its sense of freedom. Like any open-world game, there are always limitations, but the magic comes when a developer can give a sense of freedom while successfully hiding the limits of its virtual world. Breath of the Wild excels at this. Fable should not copy Breath of the Wild's open world as Fable has its own beloved gameplay and style, but a next-gen Fable would do well to make the revolutionary step forward that made Breath of the Wild so endearing and engaging for the Legend of Zelda franch


In the meantime, there haven't been many rumors about what else Bethesda has in store for fans except for the announcement of new Prey DLC, and a Fallout 3 remaster . Details on what this remaster will entail are scarce, but it will apparently be called Fallout 3 Anniversary and is in development for multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Swi


Some companies hosting press conferences, like Electronic Arts, haven't had much in the way of leaks leading up to the show. EA will be showcasing the likes of Anthem and Battlefield V at E3, but just because there haven't been many rumors about other EA titles at the show, that doesn't mean fans aren't still in for some surpri


After the success of P.T. inspired psychological thriller Layers of Fear in 2016, horror adventure game Money guide extraordinaire Bloober Team followed it up with the cyberpunk-themed psychological thriller, Observer for PC, PS4, Xbox One , and Nintendo Switch earlier this year. It's next game, Observer: System Redux is effectively a next-generation port, taking the original game and updating it with enhanced visuals and gameplay, as well as brand new story content . Observer: System Redux is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the fourth quarter of 2


From the brilliant minds at Bloober Team, developer of Layers of Fear 2, Blair Witch , and the previously mentioned Observer: System Redux comes a new original next-generation psychological horror, The Medium . Haunted by a vision of a child's murder, players control Marianne, a medium that's living between two different worlds: the real world and the spirit world, and must find answers in an abandoned hotel resort. For the creation of The Medium 's soundtrack, Bloober Team has chosen to collaborate with Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka in an effort to reflect the game’s theme of duality. The Medium will release on Xbox Series X and PC in Holiday 2


Today, several games were shown during Microsoft's Inside Xbox event, the first of a series of events that are being planned over the next few months. With a first-party event planned for July, the focus was on third-party games coming to Xbox Series X, and while the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla "gameplay" reveal was the star attraction, there was a surprising number of next-gen horror games featured in the showc


When the original Fable was in development, the game's director Peter Molyneux talked about his plans for the game, which at the time was codenamed Project Ego. The main idea was that players would pick up the controller on a 15-year-old whose parents were killed, and in a journey of revenge, players would guide their avatar through an RPG experience shaping their avatar from a teenager to an adult with total freedom of their path. Their avatar would grow up along with the world—there was a famous example that players could plant an acorn as a child and then see it grow into a tree by adulthood—and eventually have to save the entire world on their journey. It was a lifelong pursuit, with players raising up a character from childhood all the way to old


There's a reason why gamers look forward to E3 every year. Not only does the show give fans a chance to learn more about already-announced titles, but it's also used by video game companies to shock the industry with surprise game announcements. There are many surprise game announcements rumored for E3 2018 , and it will be exciting to see if any of them are accur

So, while the lack of official news on Fable lingers, there's still quite a lot to get excited about. Gears of War 5 , for one, will be launching on September 10 this year along with a novel multiplayer mode called Escape . Fans with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will get to play the game four days earlier, as well as those who purchase the ultimate edition.


Besides Fable , Microsoft is apparently set to leverage some of its other big franchises at the show as well. This includes Gears of War , which is rumored to have the biggest presence at the show in the form of three new games being announced. These games include Gears of War 5 , a Gears of War battle royale spinoff , and a Gears of War strategy game in the vein of Halo Wa
