I could probably go on for way longer about my love for Overwatch . Its characters like Tracer, Winston, Mei, D.Va, and so many others are all instantly memorable and iconic, with the entire roster of characters being fun to play and filled with endless quirks and characteristics. Its visual design is lively, fun, and unique as players are engaged in fast-paced action across the world. And, of course, its gameplay loop of cooperation and teamwork has had me endlessly hooked since launch, with every match leading to rewards and honing my skills, whether they end in success or fail

I feel like the line is drawn extremely hard and deep when it affects gameplay. I think that for a campaign we were definitely more liberal with our animations and additions as long they enhanced the true intent of the moment. So 'Crew Expendable,' I think you've all seen that trailer we put out a few months back. The explosion cinema had to be redone. It was just one of those ones we just couldn't match up, but there was a very specific intent that IW had with that moment and they wanted that to establish the characters. Not just who you are, because you kind of knew that at that point, but who is Price? What is he to you? Who do you follow? Where do you fit in the grouping of the people there, and when you get knocked unconscious and you're kind of just rolling around a bit, we added a lot of that personal connection to the world. We're really happy about how that all turned out, because you're reaching for your fellow soldier that's there and he's checking on you. Then Price comes along and slaps you around and says 'We're leaving!' So there's this really great tension in the moment that only needed emphasis. It didn't need to be reworked, it didn't need a ton of additions unnecessarily, but we wanted to tell the story just a little bit more and we had the opportunity. We had the manpower, the resources, and we certainly had the drive to do it so that's what we wanted to focus on.

Voting started on December 24th, and ended on January 21st. Compared to many other competitive gaming experiences that require players to sink dozens (or hundreds) of hours into the game to grasp its nuances and strategies, Overwatch truly embraces its ability to not only get players started with the core concepts easily, but how it allows players of all abilities and skill levels to contribute and play their part in the t

BEST MOBILE/HANDHELD GAME Super Mario Run (Nintendo EPD / Nintendo) Clash Royale (Supercell) Pok é mon Go (Niantic) Reigns (Nerial / Devolver Digital) Pok é mon Sun/Moon (Game Freak / The Pokémon Company) Honorable Mentions: Mini Metr o (Dinosaur Polo Club), Severed (DrinkBox Studios), Deus Ex: Go (Square Enix Montreal / Square Enix), Fire Emblem Fates (Intelligent Systems and Nintendo SPD / Nintendo), Imbroglio (Michael Brough), Swap Sword (AP Thomson and Diego Gar

The biggest concern was probably the ADSing because you have a fair argument to say that the static image that you pop up is iconic. If it f*cking sucks they will tell you it sucks, and these are the people playing the game and giving us the feedback on it. Universally it was loved and appreciated so we knew after a couple play tests like that and run throughs we're not hearing the negativity that we feared, and it doesn't get more hardcore than hardcore COD makers. We're all playing this pretty regularly. So we felt really confident. That was one of those ones that we were a little worried about and given some of the social media stuff I'm not worried once they get it in their hands, I'm just hoping that they give it the chance that I think that it deserves. October was for Dark Souls and November is for Skyrim . There is so much I know I am going to have to play this month, from Uncharted 3 to Super Mario 3D Land to the final release of Minecraft , but it's all about the Elder Scrolls for the majority of the month. This might be the busiest November of gaming in my lifetime, and I am totally, 100% not prepared for it. Regardless, bring it

You mentioned that there were classic things and animations that you were wary of changing, where do you draw that line? How do you figure out what people considered to be the classic experience and what you might need to change?

Gaming funds have dropped for me, but that's actually not a bad thing as I'll be able to clean up some of my backlog. Being the Naughty Dog fanboy I am, I plan to pick up Uncharted 3 . I'll also be grabbing Modern Warfare 3 and The King of Fighters XIII . In terms of my backlog, I picked up the PC version of Brink a while back so I'll be giving that a spin. I looked over at Brian Raffel, our studio head, and we just kind of smiled at each other and we nodded and for me it was just so gratifying to hear the response that we felt for so long. When this project was first proposed I don't think there was a single person at Raven that wasn't like 'yes yes we want to do this. Absolutely we're all in.' That's very exciting right? It's also many moons ago that we started on this, and we knew we had something good and something fun but we didn't know know. Until you get in front of gamers you're not really gonna know. So today's reveal was king of the hold our breaths for a little bit, and the applause and the excitement; it resonated and I kept smiling most of the morning because of it. I got an opportunity to go and take pictures and the lines were long afterwards and I was like 'they screamed and in a good way, and the lines are long so they really meant it.' So I did a little bit of walking around and listening to people. So that was a fun thing for me to get on my break was a chance to hear what people thought. So I think it went pretty well, social media seems to be going pretty well for us too.
